What is the Whole Tone scale?
The whole tone scale is built entirely from whole steps, so it has six notes and no half steps at all. With no leading tone and no perfect fifth there is nothing to pull the ear home, which produces its weightless, dreamlike sound.
D♯ Whole Tone is a scale, not a key. It has no key signature of its own — music that uses it is normally written in the key signature of its parent scale, with any extra accidentals added as they occur.
