What is the Lydian Dominant scale?

Lydian dominant is the fourth mode of melodic minor — a major scale with a raised fourth and a lowered seventh. It is the standard choice over an unresolved dominant seventh sharp eleven chord, and it is sometimes called the acoustic or overtone scale.

Cis Lydian Dominant uses the same notes as Gis Melodic Minor, started from degree 4 instead of the first. The notes are shared; the tonic, and therefore the sound, is not.

Cis Lydian Dominant is a scale, not a key. It has no key signature of its own — music that uses it is normally written in the key signature of its parent scale, with any extra accidentals added as they occur.
